Celebrate World Trade over Lunch with Tennessee’s Leaders in International Trade
Tennessee Work Trade Week is a celebration of world trade and its positive impact on economic development in the State of Tennessee. Originating in 1935, World Trade Week is an annual celebration held the third full week in May. Trade organizations, businesses and other stakeholders come together both nationally and locally to promote and facilitate international trade in the U.S. economy. In recognition of the importance of International Trade, Governor Haslam proclaimed May 2017 World Trade Month in Tennessee.
Tennessee District Export Council
In recognition of World Trade Week 2017, the federally appointed Tennessee District Export Council will build recognition, awareness, and highlight the role of trade in our state’s economy through a series of events, seminars, and public awareness activities. The District Export Councils are comprised of businesses and stakeholders who will come together both nationally and locally to promote and facilitate international trade in the U.S. economy.
